How to Make the Best Texas Ranch Water
line-up-of-ranch-water-ingredients

As a Texas-based mobile bar, of course, the Ranch Water cocktail is one of our absolute favorites!

In the last decade or so the Ranch Water craze has exploded across the U.S., but did you know that the cocktail is actually rumored to have been created by a West Texas rancher in the 1960s?

According to the legend of the Ranch Water cocktail: The drink was so inspiring to its creator (the West Texas rancher), that he was guided on a 55 mile-ish journey by foot under the stars from Fort Davis to Marathon and was found in the morning, sleeping under a piñon tree.

And the Ranch Water was born.

While we don’t aim for causing any crazy pilgrimages with our cocktails at Quarter Horse Cantinas, we can promise that our Ranch Water recipe will quench the thirst of any wedding guest and get your party started.

Here’s how we make the best Texas Ranch Water cocktail.

What You Will Need:

  • Your favorite tequila

  • Limes (always buy more than you think you need)

  • Topo Chico

  • Ice

  • Salt

  • Tajin

  • Cocktail Shaker

1)    Measure 2 ounces of tequila and 1 ounce of freshly squeezed lime juice into a cocktail shaker with ice.

3)    Shake, shake, shake!

4)    Prepare your serving glass with a rim of salt or tajin (depending on your preference).
